Firebird's policy work is intended to oppose laws and rules that make it harder for people to recover after losing housing — including the criminalization of sleeping or existing in public when there is nowhere else to go.
The position
A way back, not another barrier
City of Grants Pass v. Johnson is an example of the policy environment Firebird intends to challenge. The policy section exists because some barriers cannot be solved inside a shelter building.
